CFD data for "Viability of video imaging spectro-radiometry (VISR) for quantifying flare combustion efficiency"
Description: | Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) data for "Viability of video imaging spectro-radiometry (VISR) for quantifying flare combustion efficiency". These datasets contain temperature and species concentrations from steam-assisted flares operating under various crosswind conditions. The flares are terminated with John Zinc SKEK tips. The flares are supplied a mixture of 95% methane, 4.5% ethane, and 0.5% propane by volume, and exist the flare tip at a velocity of 1.2 m/s and 298 K. The datafiles consider four cases for crosswinds ranging from 2.24-6.17 m/s and steam assist rates between 16-160 g/s. Simulations are carried out using the Unitah-Arches LES solver. Datafiles also include MATLAB scripts for converting the temperature and concentration data into spectral intensity entering the aperture of a sensor pointing at the flare plume. |
