Project_03 Q36 StudyTitle Pharmacology of sensitization and compulsive checking: dose-response profile of mCPP (0 0.3125 0.625 or 1.25 mg/kg)
Description: | This study (Q36) is one of a series of studies performed in the Szechtman lab at McMaster University and deposited in the FRDR public repository as a collection under the name "A Digital Library of Behavioural Performance in Standardized Conditions - Szechtman Lab Collection". This collection as a whole constitutes a big dataset containing raw data objects of video, track, and path plot records of rats exploring for 55 minutes a large testing environment in a standardized paradigm during chronic treatment with psychostimulant drugs; for details of this big dataset see, https://www.frdr-dfdr.ca/repo/collection/szechtmanlab. The historical context for study Q36 was Project_03 entitled: "Pharmacology of sensitization and compulsive checking". Title of experiment in Q36 was "Effect of mCPP dose (0 0.3125 0.625 or 1.25 mg/kg) on the development of sensitization and compulsive checking". |

Added "smoothed" track files to the dataset. Specifically, added a transformed version of the RAWDATA csv track files stored in the folder "05_EthoVision_csvTrackFiles". The transformed version of the track files are stored in the folder "08_SEEprocessedTrackFiles". These files were pre-processed to remove noise from the digitized tracking data (by applying appropriate filters to smooth the x, y coordinates), as described in Dvorkin, A., Perreault, M. L., & Szechtman, H. (2006). Development and temporal organization of compulsive checking induced by repeated injections of the dopamine agonist quinpirole in an animal model of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Behavioural Brain Research, 169(2), 303-311. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.bbr.2006.01.024, according to methods described in Hen, I., Sakov, A., Kafkafi, N., Golani, I., & Benjamini, Y. (2004). The dynamics of spatial behavior: how can robust smoothing techniques help? Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 133(1-2), 161-172. http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.jneumeth.2003.10.013. The RAWDATA csv track file and the smoothed version of it have the same name, except that the former has the suffix "_TrackFile.csv" while the latter has the suffix "_smoothed.csv"; e.g., Q36mCPP001_01_0_0009_0013186_TrackFile.csv and Q36mCPP001_01_0_0009_0013186_smoothed.csv, respectively. The smoothed csv file has no header. Labels for the 5 columns in the smoothed csv file are: "Frame_#", "smoothed_x", "smoothed_y", "smoothed_velocity", "segment_type" (0=lingering, 1=movesegment). |
