dc.description
This dataset contains the results of a web-based survey conducted by Dr. Anthony Piscitelli at Conestoga College, which examined Ontario residents’ motivations for investing to determine what messaging resonates with investors across the province. The survey was particularly focused on examining investors’ perspectives on impact investing. In addition, other questions within the online survey focused on the use of social media platforms, attitudes toward politics and current events, and other demographic related questions.
The survey was conducted by Dynata between November 2nd and November 10th, 2020. A total of 1,834 people over the age of 18 participated in the survey, with an oversampling of residents from Waterloo Region (336 of the total respondents). The results of the survey included below have been weighted by age, gender, and region of Ontario. This includes the number of respondents and their corresponding percentages.
The survey was funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council’s College and Community Social Innovation Fund and was approved by Conestoga College’s Research Ethics Board.
