Raster canopy gap fraction GIS data files derived from airborne lidar point cloud data from 2021 to 2023. Transect and area-based survey flights regions across the Eastern Slopes of Alberta between the Athabasca and Oldman River basin headwaters were sampled with lidar to generate 5m raster maps of canopy gap fraction. These data were then used to train a forest-based regression imputation of continuous canopy gap fraction using Landsat and digital terrain data layers for a sub-region of the Eastern Slopes covering the Bow and Oldman River headwater sub-basins at a 30m resolution.
