The codes predict bedrock channel width at steady state when the bed and bank lowering rates balance the uplift rate, from measurable physical parameters, including uplift rate, water discharge, sediment supply, grain size, rock strength, and bank angle. The "codeforlocalwidthvariation" code predicts width at cross-section scales, representing at-a-station hydraulic geometry, while the "codefordownstreamvarition" code predicts width at drainage basin scales, representing downstream hydraulic geometry.
